Vortice HR200 units installed at Fairfield Meadows

The stunning new Campbell Buchanan Fine Homes development at Fairfield Meadows on the Hertfordshire/Bedfordshire border is one of the latest projects to use the highly energy efficient VORTICE HR200 BP heat recovery units for all its one and two bedroom apartments.

The compact dimensions of the HR200 BP mean that it is ideal for locating where space is limited and it can be mounted vertically or horizontally.  This centralised mechanical extract unit with heat recovery ensures that fresh air is 100% fully filtered even in bypass mode, it is listed on the Products Characteristics Database (PCDB), is IPX2 rated and operates quietly.  For a kitchen plus two wet rooms it has an efficiency percentage of 90%.  The HR200 BP has a hard wired controller with LCD display and its two G3 filters are easily accessible simply by removing the front panel.  Designed in Italy, the HR200 BP is sleek, unobtrusive and has excellent performance values.

VORTICE Marketing Manager Jennifer Quinn said:

“Our Technical team can work with customers to ensure the most appropriate ventilation design including both ducting and heat recovery unit.  In the case of Fairfield Meadows the HR200 BP was ideal and the eventual residents of these beautiful homes will reap the benefits of excellent indoor air quality and high energy efficiency.”

NEW DEPURO PRO AIR PURIFIER CREATING PERFECT WORKING ENVIRONMENT

VORTICE INSTALLED THE NEW DEPURO PRO AIR PURIFIER IN ITS OWN BURTON UPON TRENT OFFICES AND REPORTED EXCELLENT RESULTS.

Kevin Hippey, General Manager, commented: “As part of our planning to bring our staff back into the office after working from home for several months, it was important to practice what we preach.

“We, more than many, understand how vital clean indoor air quality is to the health of those who work in our office environment, so as well as the usual COVID secure practices, one of the first things we did was install the DePuro Pro air purifier.”

Vortice currently runs the unit at 53% during the day and it is then programmed to run at a higher rate when the office is empty to purge the atmosphere.

The DePuro Pro unit uses two stage filtering, the pre (first) filter is an ISO coarse 65% (F7) which removes the larger partials from the air stream, the primary filter is a HEPA H14.

The HEPA filter (High Efficiency Particulate Air Filter) can capture at least 99.97% of particles with a diameter greater than or equal to 0.3mm.

They can filter out impurities and particles in the air, such as viruses, respirable dust, mites eggs and excretions, mould, dust, allergens, pollen, bacteria, dust mites or cigarette smoke, asbestos, various toxic dusts and aerosols from the air, dander and allergens from the fur of dogs or cats.

Vortice is delighted that the DePuro Pro has generated a huge amount of interest in the first three months since its launch, in particular in the health (hospital and dentistry) sector and in care homes, this is now extending to shops and offices because the benefits are self explanatory as we seek to do whatever we can to ensure the health of our staff and customers.

Andrew Dickinson said

“We’ve seen a very large reduction in airborne contaminants including bacteria and viruses within the first 30 mins of the operation of the DePuro Pro and as the unit is working 24 hours per day, the levels are kept at low or very low levels constantly unless they are introduced by the opening of windows.”

Keeping the air clean in the classroom

Keeping the air clean in the classroom

Children in the UK spend more and more of their lives indoors, and the health impact of the air within our homes and schools must be taken seriously.

The quality of the air we breathe has never been so important as now. With the arrival of COVID-19 we are thinking more about the air we breathe and our surroundings. Although children are said to be less at risk from COVID-19 a joint report by RCPCH and the Royal College of Physicians has found growing evidence that respiratory problems among children may be exacerbated by indoor air pollution in homes, schools and nurseries.

Although there has been much research about outdoor air pollution around schools (a recent article in The Guardian exploring the connection between air pollution particles in young brains linked to Alzheimer’s damage) less has been written about the impact of indoor air pollution inside schools and nurseries.

VORTICE believes that there are three fundamental factors to improve the air quality and help to stop the spread of COVID-19 in schools – Ventilation, Purification and Sanitisation which is further backed up by the governments recent video showing the importance of ventilation. It is important to note that not all classrooms have windows that open or its not appropriate in the winter to open windows so ventilation is paramount in keeping the air fresh and clean. VORTICE has a specialised set of ventilation products including single room heat recovery units, supply and extract fans and commercial AHU’s for larger projects to ensure a constant fresh air supply into the classroom.

The second factor is purification of the air. VORTICE offers systems like the DEPURO PRO air purifier that retain up to 99.995% of polluting micro particles, which are potential carriers of viruses and bacteria.

The third factor is sanitisation. This has been spoken about regularly since the arrival of COVID-19 and VORTICE has an extensive range of products suitable to help stop the spread and maintain optimal health of teachers and pupils within the school.

We all know washing our hands is paramount to stopping the spread.

The new S+G soap dispenser includes a no-touch design and is able to hold either soap or antibacterial gel and the Vort Super Dry hand dryer features a HEPA filter and UV light to further kill bacteria when washing and drying the hands.

VORTICE fundamentally believes that including these types of products within the school will not only improve the air quality but help stop the spread of CO ID-19, creating a healthy environment for pupils and staff.
