UNIVERSITY OF LIMERICK CHOOSES VARIO FANS FOR HEALTHY CLASSROOMS AND LECTURE THEATRES

ATC Electrical and Mechanical our Irish Partners and exclusive distributor in Ireland, in conjunction with a local electrical wholesaler and contractor, has recently supplied the Vario range of mechanical fans by VORTICE to the University of Limerick, in order to prepare for a return of students to the classroom.  The Vario mechanical ventilation fans were installed in the windows of classrooms and lecture halls to maximise the intake of fresh air and guard against rising levels of CO2.

Vario fans were chosen after extensive research and they were colour coded to match the exact RAL colour of the external windows and frames to blend in seamlessly with the external façade.  Easy to install, Vario has low noise levels so was the ideal solution for a classroom situation where noise interruption causes problems.  The fans are operated by CO2 sensors within the lecture halls so that the required air changes occur when needed and adequate ventilation is provided for occupants.

The University of Limerick was keen to improve the air quality within its buildings and to keep staff and students as safe as possible.  Research has shown that the wrong temperatures, humidity, air pollution and CO2, can all impair learning. High rates of carbon dioxide are also known to cause drowsiness, loss of concentration and headaches, so for students at the University of Limerick the Vario fans will play an important part in providing a healthy learning experience.

VORTICE HELPS IMPROVE AIR QUALITY AT CLEVELAND ROAD SITE IN WOLVERHAMPTON

Ventilation manufacturer VORTICE is delighted to be working alongside GA Nicholas and contractor E Plan Energy on the Cleveland Road, Wolverhampton site installing a range of continuous mechanical extract and heat recovery units. Situated opposite the iconic Royal Hospital building on the former bus depot,  the site comprises of 74 apartments and 18 houses and is part funded by Homes England.

Project Development Manager Ken Johnson said:

“We are delighted to be working alongside GA Nicholas on this site in Wolverhampton. We have specified our compact Vort HR 200 BP heat recovery units and the Vort Leto MEV continuous extract unit.  Good clean air is paramount especially in today’s world which is why not only did we specify continuous ventilation, but we also specified NOX filters to further filter polluted air entering the property through the system.”

The units create a constant air path by continuously extracting at a trickle rate from the wet rooms and boosting when needed. The range of heat recovery units go a stage further and not only extract, but temper the warmth from the air back into the living rooms and bedrooms.

FOOTBALL CLUB EMBRACES VORTICE AIR PURIFIER FOR CHANGING ROOMS AND PRESS ROOM

Italian football club Udinese Calcio, currently in Serie A, has installed the DEPURO PRO range of air purifiers and sanitisers by their main sponsor VORTICE in its Statio Friuli stadium in Udine, North East Italy.  The air purifiers are used in the locker rooms, the entrance to the commercial area as well as in the press room of the Dacia Arena.  This is part of the efforts to make playing at and visiting the club as safe and hygienic as possible.

The DEPURO PRO EVO with photocatalysis module kills up to 99.995% of pathogens such as viruses and bacteria, by removing and killing them, thus ensuring people’s health and safety, constantly maintaining a good indoor air quality.  Tested and certified by the University of Milan in co-operation with the Department of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences of the Luigi Sacco hospital in Milan, the DEPURO PRO EVO is being utilised in a number of health and sports facilities, places of worship, schools and commercial buildings as the world continues to tackle COVID-19.

Marketing Manager Jennifer Quinn said

“Air quality has never been so high on the agenda as it is today and we are delighted that Udinese are using the DEPURO PRO range of purifiers in their facilities. This shows how important air quality is to both Udinese and VORTICE and how imperative it is for the club to maintain good indoor air quality for both staff, players and visitors.”

NEW DEPURO PRO AIR PURIFIER CREATING PERFECT WORKING ENVIRONMENT

VORTICE INSTALLED THE NEW DEPURO PRO AIR PURIFIER IN ITS OWN BURTON UPON TRENT OFFICES AND REPORTED EXCELLENT RESULTS.

Kevin Hippey, General Manager, commented: “As part of our planning to bring our staff back into the office after working from home for several months, it was important to practice what we preach.

“We, more than many, understand how vital clean indoor air quality is to the health of those who work in our office environment, so as well as the usual COVID secure practices, one of the first things we did was install the DePuro Pro air purifier.”

Vortice currently runs the unit at 53% during the day and it is then programmed to run at a higher rate when the office is empty to purge the atmosphere.

The DePuro Pro unit uses two stage filtering, the pre (first) filter is an ISO coarse 65% (F7) which removes the larger partials from the air stream, the primary filter is a HEPA H14.

The HEPA filter (High Efficiency Particulate Air Filter) can capture at least 99.97% of particles with a diameter greater than or equal to 0.3mm.

They can filter out impurities and particles in the air, such as viruses, respirable dust, mites eggs and excretions, mould, dust, allergens, pollen, bacteria, dust mites or cigarette smoke, asbestos, various toxic dusts and aerosols from the air, dander and allergens from the fur of dogs or cats.

Vortice is delighted that the DePuro Pro has generated a huge amount of interest in the first three months since its launch, in particular in the health (hospital and dentistry) sector and in care homes, this is now extending to shops and offices because the benefits are self explanatory as we seek to do whatever we can to ensure the health of our staff and customers.

Andrew Dickinson said

“We’ve seen a very large reduction in airborne contaminants including bacteria and viruses within the first 30 mins of the operation of the DePuro Pro and as the unit is working 24 hours per day, the levels are kept at low or very low levels constantly unless they are introduced by the opening of windows.”

The new DePuro Pro air purifier has been successfully installed in two NHS hospitals in Essex as part of their fight against the spread of Covid-19.  The twelve units have been installed in three dental rooms and nine treatment rooms in a project to improve the air quality in the hospitals and increase patient turn-around in a clean and safe environment.

The DePuro Pro unit comes in two sizes, it is a plug and play set up and uses two HEPA 14 filters which retain up to 99.995% of particulates including virus, bacteria and droplets within the air.

Dean Hill and Mark Coutts from Essex based contractors TH Electrical said:stated that:

“We worked alongside VORTICE to specify the DePuro Pro to effectively clean and purify the air in these hospitals. As we know from the science, good indoor air quality is vital to the fight against the spread of Covid-19 and we’re delighted that these units are already starting to make a difference after only two weeks of being used.”
